Oculer Process

The combination of Oculer’s assay sensor, instrumentation and software capabilities mean that Micro Labs and production sites enjoy the benefits greater precision, shorter time to result and lower operating costs. Step 1
APCheck™ Vial

Contains a stable fluorescent oxygen depletion sensor which measures the growth of microorganisms that consume oxygen in the sample matrix as they recover and grow.

Oculer Selective Media 

Oculer's proprietary selective media encourages the growth microorganisms of interest while simultaneously suppressing the growth of non-target contaminants. Vials are supplied with media pre-filled.Only the sample needs to be added

The APCheck™ Vial is placed into the 930 series reader where it is incubated and the sensor is monitored for a signal

Step 4

Results from the instrument are monitored in real time and uploaded using Oculer’s cloud-based informatics software

Threshold Levels

Threshold levels can be set so that an alert is triggered when the quantity of microorganisms reaches a pre-defined level. The point in time when the recorded growth of organisms of interest in the sample is known as the “onset time” (usually measured in hours)

Fully automated real-time software allows central data analytics and customised reporting of results. Dashboard alerts enable global visibility of sites that are critical to contamination-free production and quality management. Results reporting is independent from technical intervention and can be read centrally or remotely.
